“WILL ELON MUSK SUCCEED IN MARS MISSION?” By Rohit
WHO IS ELON MUSK??
Elon Musk, one of the top billionaires in the world, has made many remarkable to our world by introducing PayPal, which made international transactions easier. Tesla is one of the top tech companies in the world to get into the race of producing classy Electrical Cars. SpaceX, one of the top private space companies, was established with a view to Mars colonization.
He is also the CEO of Twitter and the Boring company, which aims to construct infrastructures for transportation, and Co-Founder of Neuralink, OpenAI, and Zip2. Elon Musk is also a Fellow Of the Royal Society, a hub of innovative scientists and engineering with remarkable research and achievements. In 2022, Elon Musk was the wealthiest person in the world outclassing Jeff Bezos.
SPACEX- THE COLONISATION BEGINS!!! START…..
SpaceX, one of the top space companies, was initialized to colonize Mars with the help of low-cost and effective resources. Musk donated an amount of USD 1,00,000 to the Mars Society to start the project of colonization, but due to tensions arose between Russia and USA, the projects were delayed. Later, Musk thought to build up his own company to launch rockets and such vehicles with low-cost and effective materials.
FAILURE AND RESTART….
SpaceX faced failures for their three continuous launches around 2006-2008, and at the same Tesla too faced a huge loss. Then came the savior NASA, who offered a USD 1.6 Billion project to SpaceX. And from there onwards, they had the success of Falcon-1. Further, they extended the project to focus on Falcon-9, the largest orbital rocket. Due to NASA and US Defense, SpaceX survived and managed to take it to the top level.
NASA AND SPACEX….
NASA and SpaceX made several deals and one of which was Dragon Spacecraft, where they released cargo to crew members of ISS through Dragon 1. Later, in 2014 Dragon 2, was launched with crew variants and cargo loads for ISS. There was a plan for the Red Dragon mission to Mars, but it went to failure and got rejected
MUSK AND HIS THIRST FOR MARS WHY MARS???
There are many explorations with respect to Extra-Terrestrial Lands, to secure humanity a good replacement for Earth. The reason why Elon chose Mars.
Mars is simply around the same size as Earth along with it takes the around same time for a revolution. Being apart from the sun, it’s a bit cold, with CO2 and nitrogen in the air helping to grow plants and can create a greenhouse. Since gravity is 38% of Earth, we can lift heavy objects easily.
STARSHIP AND 6 MONTHS
The Mars mission to take off has just 6 months to go and all eyes are on the main leading role of Starship, the spacecraft that will carry crew and cargo to Mars. Starship, a heavy airlift to carry crew and cargo is considered to become the heaviest launch vehicle in the world, capable of carrying up to 150 metric tones fully reusable and 250 metric tones expendable. The ship has the ability to lift around 100 people for a long-duration journey.
Refilling on-orbit tanker vehicles are set on the starship, which is used to refill the starship in low earth orbit before going to Mars. It helps us to carry heavier 100 tons of objects to Mars and also if it’s highly reusable then it’s much cheaper and cost-effective. All these features make Starship, a dominant launch vehicle to take account of Elon’s long-dreamed Mars colonization.
RIVALS AND OTHER MISSIONS
Mars colonization is not a lone dream of Elon, but a dream of many billionaires and science organizations for many years. Hence, Elon has got many rivalries to stand out!!!
RELATIVITY SPACE AND IMPULSE SPACE
Terran R, the rocket is made by relativity space and is about to launch around 2024, which is gonna be a great player and rival for Starship. The launch of Terran R is yet to be released and SpaceX is still undefined of the date to launch the starship. The goal of rivalry is who will launch the vehicle first on Mars with a successful landing.
Terran R, a 3D printed and reusable rocket, is carrying a Mars rover of impulse space organization. In terms of colonization, this might not be a competition to Musk, but the name tag of 1st Rocket Landing on Mars is the point of a rivalry…
Will Elon Musk succeed or not is a question of what happens in 2024!!! Since the design of the plan is cost-effective and resources are supported by NASA and US Defense Agency, the mission can be a success and Elon Musk might have his dream come true. The way they planned the launch and experiment indicates how genius he is and his team worked hard for this mission.
