Geminids meteor shower 2020
Want to experience a spectacular light show in the night sky?
This year the Geminids Meteor shower will peak on 13 December 2020, also this is a great year for the Geminids. The Moon, with a phase of 0.6%, will let you enjoy the show., with the possibility of sighting around 120 meteors per hour at its peak. The shower runs annually from 7th to 17th December. The Geminids originate from an asteroid: 3200 Phaethon. Asteroid 3200 Phaethon takes 1.4 years to orbit the sun once.
Get ready to witness this astonishing, celestial light show with Stargazing Mumbai. We are conducting a special event to observe this meteor shower at Dehene where light pollution is the least and the opportunity to connect with nature, the most. The astronomer Ptolemy believed that shooting stars were a sign of the gods looking upon mortals and listening to their wishes. Inspiring everything from making wishes to adoring the sky, meteor showers are a reminder of our place in a dynamic and beautiful cosmic ecosystem.
