Astronomy Educator – Full-Time

Stargazing Mumbai is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Astronomy Educators to join our team on a full-time basis.

🎓 QUALIFICATION & ELIGIBILITY

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

1. M.Sc. in Physics, Astrophysics, Astronomy, or an equivalent relevant discipline from a recognized university/institution
2. Strong passion and interest in Astronomy and Space Science.
3. Hands-on experience or good knowledge of telescope handling and astronomical equipment.
4. Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
5. Good proficiency in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
6. Minimum 1 year of teaching/training/education experience.
7. Willingness to travel across Mumbai and different parts of India for astronomy programs and events.
8. Willingness to work during night hours, weekends, holidays, and special astronomical events when required.
9. Ability to interact confidently with school students, children, families, teachers, and the general public.

🔭 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The selected candidates will be responsible for:

1. Conducting Stargazing Sessions at various locations in Mumbai and across India.
2. Conducting astronomy sessions and educational programs for schools, colleges, students, children, and the general public.
3. Operating and demonstrating telescopes, binoculars, and other astronomical equipment during observing sessions.
4. Delivering engaging public presentations and astronomy talks in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
5. Conducting interactive astronomy workshops, activities, and demonstrations.
6. Writing blogs, articles, social-media content, and educational material related to astronomy.
7. Assisting in the planning and execution of astronomy camps, school programs, public events, and special celestial-event programs.
8. Ensuring a safe, informative, and enjoyable experience for participants during stargazing sessions.
9. Staying updated with major astronomical events, discoveries, missions, and developments in Space Science.
10. Representing Stargazing Mumbai professionally at schools, public events, workshops, and astronomy programs.

💰 SALARY

₹15,000 – ₹25,000 per month

Salary will be decided based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and performance during the interview.
